The history of wine and vineyards in the territory that Alentejo is today requires a long narrative, with a continuous presence in time and space, an uninterrupted and fruitful endeavor that few associate with the Alentejo. A history that took place immersed in tumultuous plots, divided between periods of bonanza and prosperity, interspersed with times of cataclysms and tribulations, in a permanent fluctuation of wills, with long periods of darkness followed by brief cycles of enlightenment and avant-garde.
In Baixo Alentejo, 2000 years ago, the Romans inhabited this peninsula. Along the way, they deepened winemaking tools and techniques that lasted in time and that are still replicated today. A day where we taste and get to know the ancient art of the wine of talha conserved between Vidigueira and Cuba by the perseverance of families and others carved for success.
In Alto Alentejo, on the extensive plain that extends until sunset and whose light reflects on the large lake that now bathes the fields of Alqueva and irrigates the fertile plain, make it even more magical.
